BINDER GmbH & Co. KG developed the turbine-driven counter-current system, revolutionizing the market for these systems. Founder Siegfried Binder drew on his knowledge and experience in the field of swimming pool technology when developing the HydroStar and EasyStar.

In 2003, Binder founded his own company and began manufacturing DC motors for swimming pool covers. Based on his many years of experience at an industrial company in Hanover, he knew there was a gap in the market: "Many swimming pools do not have covers. This causes the water to cool down quickly and become contaminated sooner." Since 2009, the tubular motors have been sold under the name MecaTec. Binder soon began supplying leading manufacturers of pool covers around the world. All of his products are tailored to customer-specific requirements: BINDER is a manufacturer with its own R&D department.

In 2010, the company changed its name from Binder Antriebstechnik GmbH to Binder GmbH & Co. KG. Until then, only pump-driven counterflow systems were available. These pumps have limited power and do not deliver the desired results. Siegfried Binder sees opportunities. He develops a counterflow system based on turbines that generate a broad and powerful flow: HydroStar is born.

BINDER has patented this unique technology. The system is so popular that EasyStar now also offers a model for retrofit installation. In the years that followed, HydroStar received numerous prestigious awards for its innovative technology, including the Plus X Award, the German Brand Award, and Brand of the Century. In 2019, BINDER further expanded its production capacities due to the high demand, which has been growing steadily ever since.
