New chlorine standard for Flanders

The lower limit for freely available chlorine is being lowered from 0.50 ppm to 0.20 ppm. However, this standard may only be applied on condition that the triple electro-disinfection system 'OXY-3' is installed in addition to the traditional chlorine dosing system. OXY-3 combines Electrode Disinfection (ECD®) with UV and copper ionization. The system has been tested over the past ten years in long-term projects under the supervision of the Department of Health. Through an 'adjustment to the environmental permit', every public swimming pool may use this new technology, and the Department of Health automatically gives a positive recommendation. The device is compact, plug & play, and can be connected to any installation regardless of the filtration technique, chlorine administration, and pH control used. A small model has been developed for the private market that can be combined with any existing system. This is the first low-chlorine system on the private market that has been approved by the Department of Health, giving every private swimmer the assurance of safe swimming at low chlorine levels, without the addition of salt, gas, or chemicals and without special filtration techniques. Would you like to know more? During this session, we will provide an overview of the results in different types of public pools, the possible applications from Olympic pools to private pools, and the special conditions imposed by the Department of Health.
