By: Karel Logghe – Many people rely on basic first aid knowledge or a single training course as sufficient preparation for emergencies. But effective rescue techniques go beyond just the basic skills. What are the essential steps for quickly assessing situations and acting effectively, even when resources are limited?
In this knowledge session, you will learn how to perform life-saving actions that really make a difference in various situations, with or without aids. You will discover how to respond quickly and effectively in stressful circumstances and how improvising with limited resources is often vital. Karel Logghe is chairman of the Reddingsfederatie (RedFed), the national federation for rescue sports and training, and advocates a broader view of rescue skills. With his many years of experience in the safety sector, he will show you how to act purposefully and professionally in critical situations. He will share inspiring examples from practice and emphasize the psychology of acting in emergency situations, so that participants not only gain knowledge but also develop more self-confidence. He also discusses the importance of preparation and prevention, and how small adjustments in behavior or approach can have a big impact. This session is therefore ideal for professionals in the swimming industry and others who want to be better prepared for unexpected events.
This knowledge session will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Knowledge Dome #1.
This knowledge session is part of the Swimming Pool Industry Day. For more information, visitzwembadbranche.be/dag.
